Pokemon/Capsule Monsters high-res concept art

Postby Proto1 » Fri 01 Oct 2010 02:49

We saw these a while ago, but never before in such high resolution. These are scans from a book about the Pokemon creator and it includes his original sketches/concept designs for the game YEARS before it came out.

Monokoma, you may want to update the Red/Blue/Green/Capsule Monsters page with these!

fantastic! I see that they wanted the trainer to find Pkmn eggs in the wild (something they never implemented), the original Pokeball design is nice, Ghastly was gargantuan and some of those girls could be the cut female trainer if we get someone to translate we could find out more!

These were actually some of the images I had previously stated I had that were going to go on my site. Unfortunate they were leaked, somehow...

Anyways, yeah. I have a contact that works in linguistics in Japan. He does translation for me, so these were certainly going to be translated at some point by a true professional.

Redstar is this translation still going to happen? And did the pictures belong to you and get leaked, or did someone have the same scans and get to them before you?

The translation is still going to happen, though I can't say how soon. My contact was recently out of Japan for vacation and, of course, is still a professor, so school comes first. However, I will say that my guy can provide the best translation as he actually lives in Japan and translates according to regional differences and linguistic manners. You can understand the person as if it was originally written in English.

I obtained the scans through a contact of mine. It's likely she shared it with a select other people or the means she obtained it from was through another person who shared it themselves. I can't say I "own" it, just that I'm a little disappointed my site won't get the exclusive. I blame school and work. :eng101:

I apologize if my English isn't very good, but I'm a lazy Italian, please correct me if I make any errors! Thank you!

Superb. :)

The in-city drawings show pokémon more like "animals" or weapons or I don't know... Some of them are caged. Then there is the conceptual mart drawing, in which there is a creature being kept in a glass canning...
